Banana & Chocolate Waffles By Brett Sutton

Golden waffles topped with bananas and indulgent chocolate sauce. Comfort food at its finest and a perfect addition to your menu. This is a waffle topped with sliced banana, chocolate sauce and whipped cream.

Costs, Margin & Menu Pricing

This recipe serves two and costs approximately £2.27 per serving, excluding the cost to serve. For the street food version, we recommend a menu price of £5.95 to achieve a 61.8% profit margin. In contrast, for the café or restaurant version, a suggested menu price of £7.95 will yield a 71.5% margin.

Method

Start by taking two waffles. Heat them in the microwave for about 30 seconds each or toast them for 2 minutes. Peel a banana and chop it into slices. Overlap the waffles on a plate to create some height. To help the banana slices stick, drizzle chocolate sauce over the waffles.

 
Place the banana slices on top of the waffles, allowing a few to fall onto the plate for an elegant presentation. Once you’re pleased with the arrangement of the banana slices, add more chocolate sauce on top. Shake the can of aerosol cream (with the lid on), then do a practice spray on a separate plate. Finally, spray the cream next to the waffles for a finishing touch.
